Waldkraiburg, Germany – At K2019, Kraiburg TPE will present thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) compounds that pass migration tests when in contact with fatty foods, and developments that minimise emissions and odour within automotive interiors.
The improved migration-control TPEs are suitable for closure systems, valves and seals for packaging with direct contact to foods that contain fat, said a 3 July company release.
The vehicle interior materials were developed via an extensive, in-depth R&D effort into the requirements for delivering ultra-low-emission material to the market, Kraiburg added.
The company will also present developments the field of TPE hybrids (TEHs) and materials with adhesion to ASA and PMMA for exterior applications, according to the company.
The TEHs provide superior chemical and thermal resistance and thus fill the gap between classic elastomers and TPEs, according to the company.
The K2019 trade fair will take place 16-23 Oct in Düsseldorf, Germany.
