Busto Arsizio, Italy – Comerio Ercole has announced the introduction of an “innovative” four-roll calender and its installation at an unnamed major tire maker in Germany.
The launch of the new calender comes as the Italian machinery maker marks its 100th year in the rubber machinery sector, a company statement noted.
Comerio Ercole was founded in 1885 and, after a first phase in the textile field, developed its first rubber processing machines.
In 1919, the company’s first calender, for rubberising textile cord, was commissioned by a major Italian tire manufacturer.
Comerio Ercole has since delivered more than 1000 calender ‘realisations’ all over the world and filed 14 international patents for related technologies.
To mark its centenary year, the company has also published a book about calendering technology and Industry 4.0 process developments.
