Leverkusen, Germany – Covestro AG has appointed Sucheta Govil as chief commercial officer (CCO), to join its board of management 1 Aug.
Govil will take over from Markus Steilemann, who has held the positions of CCO and chief executive officer (CEO) concurrently since last year.
She will be responsible for the three business segments of polyurethanes, polycarbonates and coatings/adhesives/specialities, Covestro said in a 5 June statement.
Additionally, Govil will lead central marketing, innovation management & commercial services, and supply chain centres in: Europe, Middle East, Africa; Asia Pacific; and the US.
Govil has been working as a non-executive director at building products supplier Eurocell plc in London since 1 Oct 2018.
Prior to that, she held leading marketing roles at the life sciences and material sciences company DSM in The Netherlands, and at AkzoNobel Decorative Paints in the UK.
She has also held senior positions at PepsiCo and GlaxoSmithKline in India and the UK.
Govil holds a post graduate diploma for business management from the Indian Institute of Management in Calcutta and a BA degree in economics from the University of Delhi.
