Atlanta, Georgia — US wholesale tire distributor TireHub LLC has expanded into a new market for the first time in its brief history, opening a TireHub Logistics Center (TLC) in Fort Myers, Florida.
The 50,000-sq-ft facility is the wholesale distributor's 69th logistics centre in the US.
TireHub is a joint venture between Bridgestone Americas Inc. and Goodyear which was launched in July 2018.
Expanding into a new market within the first year of business "is a milestone that we are incredibly proud of," said Peter Gibbons, CEO Tire Hub, in a statement.
The facility, which is being leased, has seven full-time employees, and according to a spokesperson, TireHub has plans to hire a few more.
Like all locations, the facility will have access to all passenger and light truck tire product lines from the Goodyear and Bridgestone companies, including Bridgestone, Goodyear, Dunlop, Firestone, Fuzion, Kelly and LeMans, as well as Toyo and select Goodyear and Kelly commercial tires.
"Fort Myers is a perfect fit," Gibbons said. "We have customers there that have been previously served through TLCs in neighboring cities."
The expansion, he said, allows the company to meet the needs of local customers with 'more frequent deliveries and personalised service.'
TireHub said it already has relocated centers in several existing cities to meet product demand in each respective area.
"Everything we do to grow our business is a testament to the consistent demand for premium Goodyear and Bridgestone tires," said Sylvia Wilks, vice president of operations at TireHub.
