Pernik, Bulgaria – Trelleborg Sealing Solutions (TSS) has completed an expansion project at its silicone products manufacturing plant in Pernik, the company announced 29 May.
The project involved adding over 1,000 square metres of production and warehouse space, to allow the facility to further focus on its liquid silicone rubber (LSR) manufacturing.
“The expansion… will enable continued growth of our sales of LSR products for industrial and automotive applications,” said Kristian Brok, president global operations elastomers.
The move, added Brok, is part of a TSS strategy to offer its clients “sophisticated products based on advanced technology.”
The Pernik facility produces LSR products for automotive, pharmaceutical and sanitary equipment, as well as household electrical appliances and baby care.
The unit specialises particularly in two-component parts and custom-engineered moulded parts, according to Trelleborg.
The site features injection moulding equipment as well as on-site capabilities in tool design and manufacturing.
The Pernik facility, added Trelleborg, works in close collaboration with the company’s ‘centre of excellence’ for LSR in Stein am Rhein, Switzerland.
