DRAFT Israeli startup receives EU support for green dispensers
Tel Aviv – Israeli startup GreenSpense, which manufactures gas-free, high-pressure continuous dispensing systems, has received funding from the EU's 2020 Horizon programme.
GreenSpense received the €1.75-million funding to further develop and commercialise its Eco-Drive product, the company announced 15 May.
According to GreenSpense, the Eco-Drive range is based on “breakthroughs in elastomer technology and materials engineering.”
The product enables aerosol-like continuous dispensing without the need for gas or pressurised metal canisters.
This feature, according to GreenSpense, makes the dispensers “safer, less expensive and more environmentally friendly, with a lower CO2 footprint.”
Brands using the dispenser can feature differentiated package designs for their products, using low-cost, recyclable materials, such as plastics, cardboard and glass.
According to GreenSpense, a few European brands are presently running pilots for the production and marketing of their products, packaged within Eco-Drive.
With a budget of €80 billion, the EU 2020 Horizon programme supports R&D projects to help bring breakthrough innovations into the market.
