Themed ‘women for rubber’, the initiative is intended to highlight the importance of women in any part of the rubber chain, from tapping to end products.
“Women play an important role in the whole rubber value chain from nurturing, harvesting, processing, trading and manufacturing,” explained an IRSG announcement.
The competition will coincide with celebrations to mark IRSG’s 75th anniversary and is supported by Singapore Committee for UN Women.
The competition is open to anyone aged 18 or over. Photos must not exceed 1MB in size and be submitted in JPEG format. Each participant can submit up to two photos.
The closing date for photo submissions is 31 Jan 2019. The winner will receive cash prizes in Singapore dollars of S$500, with two runner-up prizes of S$250 and S$100.
IRSG will announce the winners of the prizes, sponsored by Namazie International, on 19 March 2019.
