Epe, The Netherlands – The VMI Group has extended its board of directors with the appointment of Mike Norman as chief commercial officer (CCO).
In his new position, effective 1 Oct, Norman is responsible for all commercial activities of VMI globally, the Dutch tire machinery company said 8 Oct.
The appointment, said VMI, is in the face of the “vast growth” of the group in recent years which has seen the company increase its market share and widen its product portfolio.
“To ensure a strong and dedicated focus on serving our customer’s needs, VMI has expanded the global management board with a CCO,” the company added.
VMI’s global sales force is currently spread across nine countries and presided by CEO Harm Voortman. The newly appointed CCO will take over the responsibility from Voortman.
Norman has worked for VMI for the past 20 years, most recently serving as sales director for Asia, where the company has seen a significant growth in the Chinese, Korean, Japanese and other Asian markets.
“We are excited to have Mike Norman in the board and we are confident that this will allow us to continue to assure our customers’ continued success,” said CEO Voortman, commenting on the appointment.
