SNCP has 'no links to' Iran tire-group deal
Vitry-sur-Seine, France – The SNCP (Syndicat National du Caoutchouc et des Polymères) has distanced itself from an agreement signed by another French polymer trade association in Iran.
Last week, ERJ reported that a technology cooperation agreement was signed on 25 Sept in Tehran between French industry association UCAPLAST and Iranian tire group Barez.
Noting the “sensitive political context,” SNCP, which represents tire makers and rubber processors in France, emphasised that “it is in no way associated with this cooperation agreement.”
In its statement issued 28 Sept, SNCP also pointed to official figures showing that it represents 91% of the rubber 'sector' in France.
UCAPLAST is an association of rubber and plastics SMEs and does not have any tire manufacturers as members, an SNCP spokesman also pointed out.
