Wilmington, Delaware – DowDuPont's speciality products division has launched an initiative to combine its customer-solutions and materials-technology capabilities for electrical-vehicle (EV) applications .
The Ahead initiative encompasses technologies and services for autonomous driving, connectivity and related infrastructure.
Linking the company’s material and electronics capabilities, the approach is intended to increase its standing in the EV arena.
Ahead will provide solutions for lightweighting; battery-pack components and assembly, thermal management/safety, electric motors and powertrain/chassis as well as E&E applications.
Target areas include adhesives, high-performance elastomers, engineered thermoplastics, fluids/speciality lubricants, electronic materials, high-performance fibres and safety materials.
“The creation of a dedicated team targeting vehicle electrification, autonomy and connectivity makes sense for DuPont,” said Randy Stone, business president, DuPont transportation & advanced polymers (T&AP) – DowDuPont's specialty products division business.
