Stockholm – In response to continuing pressures on global silicone supply, Nynas has developed what it says is a compatible alternative for silicone-based product and sealant producers,
Noting how silicone suppliers have been unable to meet demand as well as soaring prices over the last 18 months, Nynas said its new Nyflex products are a "cost-efficient" option. The company's Nyflex range features naphthenic process oils.
Target applications for the new naphthenic-oil products include construction, marine, automotive, aerospace, electronics; personal care and consumer products as well as lubricants and anti-foaming agents.
The new products "ensure the highest compatibility, UV stability, and bacteria growth prevention,'' claimed Ghislain de Quatrebarbes, market manager, chemical industry.
''With a tight supply straining the market and causing difficulties for many silicone sealant producers, we can provide a solution,'' the Nynas manager added in a company release.
