Waldkraiburg, Germany – Thai manufacturer of toothbrushes and household brushes, The First Thai Brush Co. Ltd has opted for Kraiburg TPE’s thermoplastic elastomers (TPE) to improve the ergonomics and functionality of its Victory toothbrush product lines.
In collaboration with Kraiburg TPE, the Thai company has selected a high-transparency food-contact grade from the Thermolast K range of consumer care compounds, to be used in the brush handle for soft-touch and non-slip grip, the German materials supplier announced 5 Sept.
In addition to a smooth surface finish, the material offers efficient processability, including compatibility with other plastics in a co-moulding process that would not require a bonding agent to ensure long-term adhesion.
The TPE, said Kraiburg, is highly flowable with high adhesion to polar thermoplastics, such as PC, ABS and PETG. Additionally, the material has very strong colourability for promotional effects.
“Beyond the right material, the success of any product greatly depends on smooth development and fast time-to-market,” said Kit Tae, deputy managing director of The First Thai Brush.
“Thanks to their [Kraiburg TPE’s] high material quality and service standards, we were able to speed up the innovation of our product and keep our competitive edge in the market,” the company executive added.
