Endurica and TARRC launch durability testing partnership

Hertford, UK – The Tun Abdul Razak Research Center and Endurica LLC have established a partnership involving durability testing and simulation of elastomeric products.

The partnership expands the durability testing offerings commercially available at TARRC and will provide Endurica users with a new source for material modeling parameters, according to an Endurica news release.

TARRC also will host future Endurica training events and offer analysis services.

The partnership strengthens TARRC's position to serve the market, according to Alan Muhr, head of TARRC's engineering unit, who also noted that Endurica provides a reliable, repeatable method for routinely testing for fatigue.

"Testing methods were not optimised for productivity or repeatability, and analysis workflows were not sufficiently complete to manage the full complexity of multiaxial, variable amplitude loading scenarios," Muhr said in a statement. "Endurica has provided a way forward that enables durability simulation to become a routine practice for organisations."

Endurica Founder William Mars worked with TARRC between 2001-04 on a joint industry project focused on fatigue life prediction, and is looking forward to launching Endurica's fatigue property mapping service with them.

"In many ways, TARRC pioneered the field of fatigue and fracture for elastomers, starting with the foundational work of Rivlin and Thomas in 1953," Mars said in a statement. "Over the years, TARRC's scientists have led development of the field and won many of the highest recognitions. ... I am very proud to be working with TARRC again."
