Kochi, India – The monsoons impacting Kerala could cause natural rubber production there to fall by 40%, the Financial Express reported 15 Aug.
Rubber tapping has been significantly reduced due to heavy rains between June and August, an official of the Association of Planters Kerala told the newspaper.
Monsoons have brought severe flooding to the south Indian state. This has claimed more than 370 lives and displaced over 800,000 people.
