Haydale expands elastomer capability at UK site

Loughborough, UK – Materials technology group Haydale Graphene Industries plc has completed the installation and commissioning of a two-roll lab mill at its site in Loughborough.

The equipment will enable the company to compound nanomaterials into a range of elastomers, said a 16 Aug statement from the company.

These materials will deliver end-products with enhanced thermal conductivity, electrical conductivity and mechanical performance, the company added.

The new elastomer mixing capability sits alongside the current elastomer moulding and testing facilities at Haydale’s Loughborough site.

The project, it said, will therefore bring “in-house the facility for Haydale to serve customer requirements for nanomaterial enhanced elastomer development,”.

Haydale said it is currently working on elastomer technology for applications including, automotive parts, tires; rail and marine antivibration mounts, seals & gaskets and medical devices.

“This market-led improvement to our facility shows how Haydale is responding to the needs of its customers,” said Ray Gibbs, CEO of Haydale.

Haydale is focused on integrating graphene and other nanomaterials into advanced commercial technologies and industrial materials.

The company said it holds patents for its technologies in Europe, the US, Australia, Japan and China and operates from six sites in the UK, US and the Far East.
