Timisoara, Romania – Continental Tires is investing €4 million in improving the environmental impact of its tire production unit in Timisoara.
The project involves upgrading a regenerative thermal oxidation system for treating olfactory emissions, a company spokesman informed ERJ.
Improvements to the own-built system, installed at the Romanian plant in 2015, are expected to reduce odours arising from production by up to 80%, he said.
In a separate development, Conti has purchased 32-hectare piece of land near the site, where it will build a warehouse and logistics centre for the factory.
“This land acquisition will help the company optimise costs with logistics activities and expand storage capacity for finished goods,” the spokesman explained.
