Bridgestone wins lawsuit against China’s Fangxing Rubber
Tokyo – Bridgestone Corp. has won a court case regarding the infringement of patent rights against Chinese tire maker Fangxing Rubber Co.
The Japanese company received “a favourable ruling” from the Shanghai Intellectual Property Court in the case involving its R118 truck-tire tread pattern, Bridgestone announced 31 July.
The court, it said, decided in May that Fangxing should cease activities that were in violation of Bridgestone’s patent rights and pay damages of approximately Yuan620,000 (€77,500).
Bridgestone added that its R118 truck tire tread pattern had been developed proprietarily by the company for China and other Asian markets.
