Offenbach am Main, Germany – Falken tires have been selected as OE fitment for the new Mercedes-Benz G-Class, a luxury SUV which had its world premier at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in January.
In a statement earlier this month, Falken Tyre Europe GmbH announced that it has been supplying Falken Wildpeak A/T AT3WA and all season Euroall AS210A in size 265/60R18 as original equipment for the vehicle.
The all-terrain Wildpeak A/T3WA, said Falken, has the durability and long life required for the off-road sector, while being a good alternative for on-road driving.
Developed for use all year round, the AS210A is primarily suited to on-road driving. The tire is an improved edition of AS200, which has already been noted for high aquaplaning safety, good grip on wet surfaces and low levels of noise.
“For us, the approval to fit the new G-Class with Falken as original equipment is a very special seal of quality,” said Christian Stolting, key account manager for Falken Tyre Europe GmbH.
According to Stolting, Falken intends to expand collaboration with Mercedes-Benz.
