Dunlop Tech, SRI open European R&D centre
Hanau-Steinheim , Germany – Sumitomo Rubber Europe GmbH and Dunlop Tech GmbH have officially opened their European Development Centre campus.
The 30,000-sqm restored historic building in Hanau-Steinheim houses facilities for tire development and testing, production of liquid latex and designing tire pressure monitoring systems.
Bringing Sumitomo Rubber Europe and Dunlop Tech under one roof will “simplify communication and focus expertise,” said Bernd Schuchhardt, managing director of Dunlop Tech GmbH in a 12 July release.
The new technical and chemical labs, “provide us with the opportunity of testing and analysing tyre compounds and tyres in-house for the first time and are likewise, readily expandable” said Dr. Bernd Löwenhaupt, managing director of Sumitomo Rubber Europe GmbH.
“This will boost the speed and efficiency of our research and development operations. The tire hall is also more spacious, allowing us to store and fit more tires,” added Löwenhaupt.
