Kiyosu, Japan – Automotive parts supplier Toyoda Gosei Co. Ltd has established an engineering and sales office in Gurgaon, India to strengthen its sales in the Indian market.
In a 13 July statement, the company said that Indian subsidiary Toyoda Gosei Minda India (TGMIN) would help localise product development at the new location.
The office, located just outside New Delhi and close to the company’s main customer Maruti Suzuki India Ltd, will house engineering and sales operations.
The operations were previously situated at TGMIN’s head office in its Neemrana Plant, over 100 km out from Delhi.
Toyoda Gosei expects to start local development operations and expand facilities with the relocation.
The company expects to increase the number of its engineering and sales members there from 10 to 20, by 2020.
The Japanese supplier said it viewed India as an important market and is taking steps to enhance its production network there.
The company is scheduled to start operation of a new production plant in Gujarat, western India, in October 2018.
Toyoda Gosei is targeting to double its sales in India to 35 billion yen (€267 million), by 2025.
