Nokia, Finland – Nokian Tyre president and CEO Hille Korhonen took part in the Ironman triathlon race 30 June, where she finished the race in 6 hours 37 minutes.
The event, held in Lahti, Finland, included 1.9km of swimming, 90km bike riding and 21.1km running.
The finishing-time put the CEO fourth in her race category, which is based on age-group and gender.
This, a Nokian spokesman told ERJ, was not Korhonen’s first race, she took part in a full Ironman Race a few years back.
In fact, the CEO is planning to take part in a “full” Ironman race in September in Chattanooga, Tennessee, about 30 minutes outside of Dayton where Nokian is building its new US factory.
The race in Chattanooga includes 2.4 miles of swimming, 116 miles of bike riding and 26 miles of running.
