Yuncheng, China – Carbon black maker Anlun Chemical is expanding its capacity and plans to build its facilities in Yuncheng, Shanxi province into the world’s largest carbon black site.
In April, Anlun started up two lines, each with 50 kilotonnes per annum (ktpa) capacity– making it the first Chinese company to have carbon black lines of such size in China.
In June, Anlun began construction of two additional lines, each with the same capacity, expected to come on stream in early 2019.
This will bring Anlun’s total capacity to 45ktpa with 11 lines, said the Chinese company’s website.
Anlun is also mulling a twelfth line with the same capacity, the completion of which will allow the company to make each of its product types at a different line, generating more consistent, reliable quality, said the website.
In 2017 Anlun was ranked by China Rubber Industry Association as the country’s fourth largest carbon black maker in revenue with €168 million sales (1.3 billion yuan) and the fifth largest in capacity.
