Yunfu, Guangdong – China’s tire maker Himaxer has started trial production at its 1.2 million unit/year polyurethane tire project in Yunfu, Guangdong, the company told ERJ sister publication UTECH-polyurethane.com.
Located in the city’s Xincheng Industrial Park, the project has 8,000 m2 total area and is operated by Himaxer’s local subsidiary Bainaite New Materials. It has CNY300 million ($44 million) investment earmarked and is estimated to generate CNY1.6 billion annual sales when in operation.
Himaxer’s PU tires
Built using its own technology, the company said its PU tire has better wear and puncture resistance compared with traditional rubber tyres.
Headquartered in Guangzhou, Guangdong, Himaxer also has a manufacturing site in Jiaozuo, Henan with over 13m unit/year planned total capacity for traditional and PU tires.
The company’s third site, a pilot trial centre in Guilin, Guangxi, has 100,000 unit/year capacity for PU-rubber composite tires used in forklifts; 50,000 unit/year capacity for PU and scrap rubber filled engineering and truck tires designed for ports, and 50,000 unit/year capacity for solid PU tires.
