Semperit CTO steps down from the management board
Vienna – Semperit’s long-standing chief technical officer Richard Ehrenfeldner has terminated his activities within the company’s management board as of 15 April, the Austrian rubber technology group has announced.
Michele Melchiorre who was appointed to the management board as the CTO in June 2016 has “gradually assumed” the tasks from Ehrenfeldner, Semperit added.
In a 14 April statement, Semperit said the “transfer process” of the CTO tasks was completed following its demerger with Sri Trang.
Melchiorre studied mechanical engineering at the Technical University Aachen and business administration at the University of Hagen. In his most recent position, he was employed as group vice president global supply chain at Bombardier Transportation in Berlin.
Ehrenfelder joined Semperit in 1989 and has been a member of the management board of Semperit AG Holding since October 2001. He was responsible for the group’s Medical Sector from June 2016 to December 2016 and most recently played a significant role in terminating almost all joint venture activities with the Thai Sri Trang Group in March.
Semperit also nominated Martin Füllenbach as its new chief executive officer in late March to replace the outgoing Thomas Fahnemann.
The group’s supervisory board will approve Martin Füllenbach as CEO for a term from 1 June to 31 Dec 2020 during its meeting on 26 April.
Fahnemann announced on 15 March that he was stepping down from his position following a transaction to terminate the group‘s joint venture with Sri Trang of Thailand.
Füllenbach served as CEO of Oerlikon Leybold Vakuum in Cologne since 2012. He has also been a member of the management board of OC Oerlikon AG in Pfäffikon, Switzerland, since 2014.
As of 1 June, the members of the management board of Semperit AG Holding will therefore be Martin Füllenbach (CEO), Frank Gumbinger (CFO) and Michele Melchiorre (CTO).
