Lyon, France – Amid all the price-rise announcement for new tires, French used tire collection and management company Aliapur has signalled some stability, at least in the recycling arena.
For 2017, Aliapur has announced that the ‘eco-contribution’ will remain unchanged for all categories of tires. The levy, therefore, remains at €1.25 for all passenger car tires, which account for two thirds of the total annual collection.
The decision maintains the levy at the levels of the last two years, which marked a continuation of a steady decline in the eco-contribution for over a decade. This, said an Aliapur statement, reflects how tire recycling in France in now structured efficiently.
Alipaur also signalled its intention to achieve further optimisation, for example in the areas between manual collection and collection in skips, as well as finding new ways to recycle tire rubber.
