Kiyosu, Japan – Toyoda Gosei has opened its Brazilian subsidiary GDBR Industria e Comercio de Componentes Quimicos e de Borracha Ltda. (GDBR) at the company’s premises in Itapetininga, Sao Paulo, according to a 14 April press release.
The plant is Toyoda Gosei’s first production facility in Brazil.
“We look forward to growing in Brazil, especially Itapetininga, with increasing localisation to serve the needs of the Brazilian automotive market with its long-term growth potential,” said Toyoda Gosei chairman Tadashi Arashima at the opening ceremony.
In addition to GDBR, Toyoda Gosei invested capital in Pecval Industria Ltda. (Pecval; Indaiatuba, Sao Paulo, Brazil), a producer of plastic automotive parts, in November 2015.
These two business units will work together in supplying products to carmakers in South America.
Located on an area of approximately 220,000 square metres, the plant employs nearly 260 people and produces automotive sealing parts, interior and exterior parts such as instrument panel components and safety systems such as airbags.
