The Woodlands, Texas –Tecnoelastomeri Srl has joined the Polyurethane Manufacturers Association (PMA), which represents polyurethane processors and suppliers, parent company Huntsman Corp has announced.
The move, said Huntsman, showed the company’s commitment to “providing the Americas market with advanced elastomer systems based on methylene diphenyl diisocyanate (MDI) technology.”
Based in Modena, Italy, Huntsman Tecnoelastomeri manufactures MDI-based hot-cast elastomer systems and processing machines. Hot-cast polyurethanes are used in many downstream applications, including wheels, rolls, technical parts and seals. These applications are used in the automotive, rail, oil and gas, mining and steel industries, among others.
“Since Huntsman acquired Tecnoelastomeri S.r.l. in June 2015, we have introduced many customers worldwide to the benefits of high-quality engineered urethane elastomers,” said Riccardo Cirà, global commercial and marketing manager, Huntsman Tecnoelastomeri.
“Joining the Polyurethane Manufacturers Association will enable us to extend the reach of our versatile and superior-performance MDI-based elastomers in the Americas.”
