Freudenberg buys Australian sealing solutions distributor

Weinheim, Germany – Freudenberg has taken over Australian sealing distributor Ludowici Sealing Solutions Pty Ltd of Brisbane, Queensland in a bid to grow its sealing business in the country.

The family-owned company is the “market leader” in the distribution of hydraulic and pneumatic seals in Australia, said Freudenberg Sealing Technologies business group.

"With this acquisition, our Sealing Technologies business group will be able to widen its global distribution network for sealing solutions in the industrial sector and in the automotive replacement parts business in Australia," said Mohsen Sohi, Freudenberg group CEO.

According to Sohi, Freudenberg then expects to extend distribution network throughout southeast Asia.

Ludowici Sealing Solutions employs some 40 people and, in addition to its headquarters in Brisbane, has five further offices in Australia.

The company principally offers hydraulic and pneumatic seals such as piston seals, O-rings, and rod and wiper seals.

The company also has “extensive expertise” in the mining industry, according to Claus Möhlenkamp, CEO at Freudenberg Sealing Technologies.
