Greenville, South Carolina - Michelin will provide specifically tuned Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires as the exclusive fitment for the next-generation 2016 Cadillac CTS-V, the French tire-maker announced on 30 July.
Michelin engineers, said the report, developed specially-constructed Pilot Super Sport tires that significantly enhance the sports-car technology and performance offered by Cadillac V-Series.
Michelin's ultra-high performance technology, including the latest advances in the tread compound, have been adapted to provide improved wet and dry grip as well as a long tread life.
According to the announcement, the Michelin Pilot Super Sport tire featuring an aggressive steel belt package previously reserved for Michelin racing tires.
The tire's tread depth, said Michelin, is tuned to balance everyday street wear and also provide high grip for extreme race track performance.
Three different rubber compounds are engineered and located across the tire's tread surface to optimise tread life, added the tire-maker.
