Munich, Germany - Munich-based Pyrolyx AG has completed its long-anticipated merger with Carbon-clean tech (cct) Stegelitz GmbH– claiming that the merger will make it the world’s largest manufacturer of recovered carbon black (rCB).
Pyrolyx will invest in cct’s production site in Saxony-Anhalt and substantially increase its production capacity, the company has previously announced.
Pyrolyx’s patented process technology will now be implemented on an industrial scale in Stegelitz, parallel to cct’s own process, said the company.
“By taking over cct Stegelitz GmbH and building a commercial Pyrolyx production plant, we are forging a corporation specialising in end-of-life tire recycling and the production of rCB…,” said Pyrolyx CEO Niels Raeder.
Pyrolyx recovers carbon black from commercial rubber granules produced from end-of-life tires. Similarly, carbon clean tech (cct) specialises in manufacturing carbon black from used rubber products, such as tires.
