Waterford, New York – Momentive Performance Materials Inc. (Momentive) has started operations at its expanded liquid silicone rubber (LSR) plant in Leverkusen, Germany, announced the company on 12 June.
The Chempark facility, said Momentive, produces a range of products to support a global customer base and is expanded in response to growing demand for LSR.
“Our investment supports the continued growth of the LSR market in the coming years … [and our] long-term commitment to an innovative product range for our customers in Europe, Asia and the Americas,” said Jack Boss, president and CEO of Momentive.
“Regular investments in our Leverkusen site enable us to adapt to the increasing quality and complex design requirements of our customers," said senior vice president & managing director Robert Gnann.
According to Momentive, its “efficiency measures” implemented in recent years have resulted in capacity increase of LSR production by more than 10 percent.
