Hubei, China - The Central China Rubber Resources Recycling Industrial Park broke ground in Xiangyang, Hubei province in April with 2.1 billion yuan (€315 million) investment earmarked, said local reports.
The park has a total area of 700,000 square metres, including sections for manufacturing, processing, trading, storage and research. The project, when completed, is expected to become China's largest rubber recycling park.
The project aims to process the equivalent of 400,000 tonnes of scrap tire each year, including a 300,000 tonne/year capacity for rubber modified asphalt, a 100,000 tonne/year capacity for recycled rubber, a 180,000 tonne/year capacity for rubber crumb, a 300,000 tire/year capacity for retread, and a 100,000 tonne/year capacity for scrap tire cracking.
The facility will function as a link combining upstream and downstream sectors, and will also be a provider of rubber recycling machinery, said local reports.
