Rubber granule producer among UK top SME exporters
Lakenheath, UK – Murfitts Industries, a UK-based manufacturer of rubber granules, has been recognised by the Sunday Times SME Export Track 100.
The company was ranked among the UK’s top 100 small and medium enterprises (SME) which have grown their exports the fastest over the last two years, a press release announced on 19 May.
Murfitts produces granules from recycled vehicle tires at its plant in Lakenheath, Suffolk, processing around 11 million car tires each year.
The company claims to have developed its own unique manufacturing processes which enables it to recycle 100 percent of every tire, while producing granules of high quality for big sports pitch companies.
Murfitts manufactures rubber granules for use in artificial sports pitches, children’s playgrounds, carpet underlay, modified road asphalt and many other applications.
The company exports to over 50 countries.
Among the projects using Murfitts products are a new pitch for the Tokyo Dome baseball stadium, 3 fields at CEJU Youth Sports Centre in Belem, Brazil and the Amsterdam Arena – home of Ajax Football club.
Murfitts also provided for Saracens and Newcastle Falcons rugby pitches, as well as shockpads underneath the hockey pitches for London 2012 Olympics.
