Mitsui posts 70% rise in income
Tokyo – Mitsui Chemicals has posted a 69-percent increase in operating income in its annual results for the full fiscal year of 2014, ended 31 March.
The company posted an operating income of ¥42 billion (€310 million), compared to ¥24.9 billion the previous year.
Sales, however, dropped slightly from ¥1,566 billion to ¥1,550.
According to Mitsui, there was strong demand for automotive related elastomers and PP compounds in North and Central America.
The company statement did not give any further details of its rubber segment’s financial performance.
