Vienna/Düsseldorf – Semperit has concluded the acquisition of German Leeser GmbH & Co. KG with the formal closing of the transaction on 29 April.
Anti-trust authorities approved the acquisition of the German profile producer by the Semperit Group without imposing any conditions, said a Semperit press statement.
The acquisition is intended to strengthen Semperit’s Semperform building profiles business unit as a complete provider on the profiles market.
Semperit called the move as a “further step” in its expansion on the growth market for building profiles.
Leeser, said Semperit, complements the existing Semperform business, especially in profiles for windows, doors and facades. The acquired business operates two production plants located near Düsseldorf, Germany.
In 2014, Leeser generated revenue of approximately €37 million in Europe, employing a workforce of about 200 people. Its main markets include Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
Semperit is hoping to bundle know-how, especially in the field of ultra-high-frequency technology.
The Semperform plant in Deggendorf will continue to be the group’s competence centre for profiles for PVC-windows.
The sites near Düsseldorf will keep their focus on moss rubber and co-extruded gaskets for aluminium windows and facades.
