Brazilian retreader introduces exclusive tread design

Nova Prata, Brazil — Brazilian retread materials producer Borrachas Vipal SA has introduced an exclusive tread design for use in transport services that demand a high level of tire performance.

Vipal’s new DV-RT4 tread “offers excellent traction power and high mileage due to its greater contact area with the ground,” according to the company, which specified the tread for drive axles — especially for transport services—on paved highways.

It said the new design provides resistance to abrasion and homogeneous wear until the end of its service life, as well as greater adherence on wet roads while offering enhanced water drainage.

Another distinguishing feature of the tread is its markers, Vipal said, which indicate the tread cut region on the tire itself, assisting retreaders to obtain a better splice finish.

“It is increasingly common to see higher horsepower trucks along the highways worldwide. Routes that are often difficult, with curves, uphill and downhill stretches, demand even more power from engines and, consequently, more from tires,” said Tales Pinheiro, Vipal marketing manager.

“This new tread that we are launching shows that Vipal is … in tune with its needs,” he added.

Latin America-based Vipal Rubber, founded in 1973 in Nova Prata, said it has allocated one of its three factories in Brazil exclusively to producing exports, with the company’s primary markets in Latin America, Europe and North America.
