Anhui, China - Hefei Wanli, a joint venture between Guangzhou Fengli Tire & Rubber and local automotive maker JAC, held a ground-breaking ceremony for its 2 million/year all-steel tire plant in Hefei, Anhui province on 12 Feb.
The new plant, located at JAC's industrial park for vehicle components with 334,000? total area, has 2 billion yuan (€300 million) investment earmarked.
Construction of the site is scheduled to start this June and be completed in Dec 2016.
The project combines the resources of two of China's major players along the automotive industrial chain and will generate scale effect to its fullest extent, said Fengli's website.
The company produced its 100 millionth tire under the Wanli brand in Sept 2014.
