Cologne, Germany – The organising company behind Tire Technology Expo 2015 has officially announced that the annual tire industry exhibition and conference event will move to Hanover.
The relocation, from 2016, was prompted by the launch of a new tire event at the KolnMesse – the TTE show’s long-standing venue.
The move will open up new possibilities for TTE, particularly given the size and scale of exhibits that can be accommodated at Hanover Messe, Tony Robinson, founder and organiser of TTE told ERJ at the start of TTE 2015, 10-12 Feb in Cologne.
“It's time to move on for a number of reasons; not least of which is that we are unable in February in Cologne to get a modern expo hall that combines sufficient conference space to run the much larger event it has become,” Robinson said in a subsequent TTE statement.
“Exhibitors are universally happy with the decision to re-locate and many have already booked significantly bigger exhibit spaces for Hanover 2016, enjoying fewer restrictions from large pillars and a very low ceiling height,” he added.
Another factor in the decision to move TTE has been Messe Cologne's plan to launch its own tire show in direct competition to the Reifen show in Essen.
“We have never regarded Reifen to be a competing event, but we now see a shoot out between Essen and Cologne for their respective shows aimed at tire buyers, retreaders and fitters,” commented Robinson.
