Cologne, Germany - Lanxess has showcased its two new SSBR product developments at the Tire Technology Expo in Cologne, between 10-12 Feb.
“These high-performance rubber products offer tire manufacturers even better options for producing energy-efficient tires with low rolling resistance,” said Lanxess in an announcement.
Functionalised SSBR grade Buna FX 3234A-2HM, according to Lanxess, displays improved polymer/filler interaction in the tread mix.
This reduces hysteresis and therefore the rolling resistance of the tires, it added.
Lanxess also added that the grip also has been improved, while its glass transition temperature is -30 °C.
“The second new rubber grade, Buna VSL 3038-2HM, expands the existing Buna VSL family,” said Lanxess, explaining that it is an oil-extended SSBR with better grip properties without compromising on rolling resistance.
