Kuala Lumpur – Biomax Rubber Industries Ltd is adding two new rubber glove production lines and acquiring space to increase capacity, the company has announced.
The investment is in response to increased demand for the company’s medical examination gloves, Biomax president, Chong Wee Chong, said in an 18 Jan statement.
"We have a three-month backlog of orders and are working hard to make two new production lines operational in the near future to fulfill future orders promptly," he explained.
The expansion project includes the addition of space to its manufacturing headquarters to establish a new quality control facility and warehouse facilities.
"We have targeted a new location located at Mukim Kuala Selangor, Negeri Selangor, Malaysia, that is approximately 24.72 acres, and has a strategic location with easy access to fuel supply,” said Chong.
The company is conducting a preliminary study and expects that local authorities will grant the necessary manufacturing permits, he added
Biomax aims to produce its gloves through other manufacturers until the new production lines are operational, beginning as soon as suitable quality control measures are in place.
The company is also in talks to form a JV with an unnamed component manufacturer to further enhance its glove manufacturing capacity.
