Just over a century ago all roads led to London for the 4th International Rubber Exhibition, held 24 June to 9th July, 1914.
The event attracted many now familiar names including Continental Caoutchouc & Gutta Percha Co., Dunlop Rubber, Lehmann & Voss, Leyland & Birmingham, Pirelli, Troester and Sime, Darby.
However Manchester, UK-based rubber machinery maker Francis Shaw & Co. Ltd announced that it would not be exhibiting at the show because of the cost of the previous show in 1911 – £1,500.
