Yokohama Chinese plant receives environmental certificate
Tokyo ? Yokohama Rubber Co. has announced that its Chinese subsidiary Hangzhou Yokohama Tire Co Ltd has been certified as a Hangzhou City Environmental Education Base by the authorities in Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province.
According to the company, only 30 firmsout of 300,000 presently operating in Hangzhou Cityhave been certified as Environmental Education Bases.
Since 2011, Hangzhou Yokohama Tire has co-operated with Hangzhou City’s environmental protection policy, investing in environment-friendly facilities, according to Yokohama.
Projects, it said, have included the introduction of deodorizing and dust emission purification equipment to the mixing and vulcanization process lines at the tire manufacturing plant and the construction of on-site sewage treatment facilities.
Hangzhou Yokohama Tire was established in January 2002 and began tire production in May 2003.
