Cologne, Germany – Following a recent restructuring, Rhein Chemie is now operating as Rhein Chemie Additves, a business unit of LANXESS Deutschland GmbH
Last August, Lanxess said it was combining the rubber chemicals unit’s specialty chemicals product line and its functional chemicals (FCC) business unit with Rhein Chemie to form the new additives-focused unit.
The new Rhein Chemie Additives (ADD) business unit is headed by Anno Borkowsky. Last year, he, took over as head of Lanxess’ rubber chemicals business from Luis López-Remón, who is now leading Lanxess’ leather business unit..
“Bundling the additives businesses will open up new markets and attract new customers for [parent group] Lanxess,” according to a Rhein Chemie statement..
Headquartered in Cologne, Rhein Chemie Additives employs around 1,600 people worldwide: supplying plastics additives, rubber additives, lubricant additives and colourant additives.
