BKT Tires rolls out plans to grow in US

Seregno, Italy – BKT Tires Inc. has announced that it is extending its presence on the North and Central American markets in the segment of OTR tires.

Part of the Balkrishna Industries Ltd’s American group BKT said it had established a new business premises dedicated to the OTR sector and opened two “strategically positioned” warehouses for OTR tires for the American market.

The first warehouse, which has been operative since September, is located in Wando, South Carolina, on the Atlantic coast; the second is located on the West Coast in Wilmington in California.

“These structures will enable us to satisfy our customer requests more quickly, reducing delivery terms,” president of BKT Tires Shawn Rasey explained.

“The choice of the position is the result of a precise strategy: the two warehouses on the opposite sides of the country enable us to best organize the distribution network and to quickly reach every region with a very high delivery capacity,” he added.

The two premises have an automated storage system equipped with lifting devices, pliers, belts and scaffolding for the correct and safe handling of OTR tires. The entire staff has received adequate training for safe tire handling.

The company also announced two recent appointments to its management team: Adrian Leu as senior manager for field technical services and Siri Speegle as OTR marketing manager.
