Mercedes taps Bridgestone for new SUV

Brussels – Mercedes-Benz has selected the new Bridgestone Dueler H/P for its latest compact SUV model: the GLA.

Bridgestone will be producing the tire in three sizes: 215/60 R17 96V (standard summer), 235/50 R18 97H (extended all season) and 235/45 R19 95V (extended summer) for 17”, 18” and 19” rims.

Selling points of the Dueler H/P Sport tires are durability, reliability and performance, said Bridgestone, adding that these features will enable drivers "to get the most out of their vehicles, even in challenging conditions."

Other recent Bridgestone OE fitments is the Mercedes-Benz C-Class. 16” and 17” versions of the Bridgestone’s Turanza T001 have been tailored to the specific requirements, the tire maker pointed out.

Drivers looking for “true sports performance” have the option of the Bridgestone Potenza S001 in 18” sizes, the company added.

Bridgestone’s Blizzak LM-32 winter tire was also chosen to complete the factory fitment package, with seven sizes to be developed specifically for the C-Class.
