Kraiburg develops fire-safe rubber compounds
Waldkraiburg, Germany – Gummiwerk Kraiburg, part of the Kraiburg Group, has developed new elastomeric compounds for composite applications with stringent fire-safety requirements.
According to the company, the compounds ‘Kraibon’ have been certified in accordance with new European fire safety standard for rail vehicles EN45545.
Kraiburg added that the elastomers were developed as the basis for use in rail traffic and the aerospace industry.
The compounds, it said, can be used to manufacture lightweight, impact-resistant and sound-absorbing components and linings.
